Topic:  How to Ensure that Right People Have "The Plan" When the Time Comes - The Practical Approach

Description:  One of the significant problems within Business Continuity Management is ensuring that those responsible for implementing the plans actually have the plans and any supporting documentation when they need them.
The presentation by Terry Bogyo and Andrew Wilson will explain the solution developed by WorkSafeBC and share the experience and unanticipated benefits gained during its implementation.

Presenters:  Andrew Wilson is the Manager of Corporate Business Continuity Planning at WorkSafeBC.  As such, his responsibilities involve the facilitation of the development, review and testing of the business continuity plans in the operational areas, setting standards and templates for those plans and managing the monthly update and plan distribution process.   He’s been at WorkSafeBC since the end of the last millennium and involved in Business Continuity for about the last four years.   Before arriving in Canada, he worked in IT in the financial services industry and has also been a lecturer and trainer.

Terry Bogyo (pronounced  Bo-show) is the Director of Corporate Planning and Development for WorkSafeBC (the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia) where his responsibilities include environmental scanning, strategic planning and inter-jurisdictional comparison.  Terry’s career in workers’ compensation spans more than 25 years and includes frontline and management positions in claims and rehabilitation as well as staff roles including as the Director of Policy and Research and Director of Community Relations.  He is a frequent commentator on workers’ compensation issues, a regular contributor to various workers’ compensation publications, and sought after speaker on future work-related risks and challenges.
