SummaryThe LegalSEC Summit Co-Chairs (two) are responsible for the educational content of the summit, selection and leadership of the Summit Planning Committee, oversight of educational session development and chairing planning meetings. They liaise with the LegalSEC Steering Committee and ILTA's Program Planning Council and have a role in developing and executing ILTA's 2016 programming framework as it relates to security. The Co-Chairs work directly with planning committee members and ILTA staff.

Term: LegalSEC Summit Co-Chairs serve a two-year term. In very general terms, this role averages approximately 8-10 hours a month.

Compensation: LegalSEC Summit Co-Chairs do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Work with ILTA staff and the Summit Planning Committee to develop and execute the educational program for the LegalSEC Summit:

  • Lead the Summit Planning Committee in developing a slate of sessions to meet the Summit Goals
  • Lead planning calls (at least monthly)
  • Define the main areas of focus for the sessions
  • Review and evaluate ideas for topics and speakers within the defined areas of focus
  • Act as the communication conduit for the Summit Planning Committee
  • Support the Summit Planning Committee members who take on the development of the sessions
  • Mentor and evaluate Summit Planning Committee members
  • Onsite - support the Summit Planning Committee with their sessions
  • Provide feedback to staff and participate in post-conference evaluations
