Keynote Address: Fin(Legal)Tech - Law's Future from Finance's Past
Since the global financial crisis, the legal industry has experienced significant changes. These changes have led many to question the future of the legal industry. The exploration of law's future typically involves the search for the appropriate analogy or use case to describe the current and/or future dynamics of the legal market. While no single analogy can quite characterize the matter, the history of finance (from Black-Scholes to algorithmic trading) offers important lessons for law. In this presentation, Professor Katz will explore fin(tech) and the lessons that financial technology might offer for the future of legal technology (and well as the overall legal industry).

Keynote Address: The Honourable Mr Justice Kevin Zervos SC
Kevin Zervos, Judge of the High Court of Hong Kong, will be interviewed on current money laundering and corruption issues facing the Asian legal system and their impact on law firms and corporations. Zervos was a veteran of frontline criminal prosecutions spanning two decades and had a reputation of being a formidable criminal courtroom advocate and human rights specialist.

Panel: It's a New Age in Data Privacy - Safe Harbour
Data laws are changing and the Schrems judgment declared the "safe harbour" decision to be invalid. Companies and law firms complying with Safe Harbour will no longer automatically comply with EU data protection directives. We will explore the basis of the court's judgment, look at practical and legal implications, and discuss what steps can be taken to mitigate risks in the light of the judgment, and the impact on the manner and complexity of cross-border e-disclosure and global information governance. Come away with a checklist of questions to ask to help you understand whether your data is at risk.
