ILTACON 2019 - Know Before You Go

By ILTACON Conference posted 07-11-2019 12:40

ILTACON is almost here and we are super excited for all we have planned. We do have a few things we want to point out before you go make your trip more enjoyable.

Dawn Hudgins our VP, Events & Conferences and Nicole Martinez, Program Manager, Education and Content have made a great video with details to make you more familiar with the property and program before you even arrive

ALL ABOUT YOU:

These events do take a toll on your body, so there are a few things to keep in mind…

YOUR FEET – Plan to wear comfortable, supportive shoes to this event. Although the distance between where you sleep and where you need to be is a shorter distance than some properties, your feet will get tired. When you are traveling between the Swan and Dolphin hotels, we have golf carts waiting to transport you to help minimize your foot traffic. These sponsored carts will provide shade from the heat, lovely conversation, and a moment of rest. If you happen to be staying at the Beach or Yacht Club, we can direct you to a secret path to get you the short distance to the Dolphin Conference Center even more quickly.

THE HEAT – August in Orlando, is HOT, there is no other way to say it. Prepare to hydrate at every opportunity you may have. We will have 150 bubblers located throughout the property for refreshing water, as well as 2 hydration stations located on the Causeway between the Swan and Dolphin. Additionally, because August falls during Orlando’s rainy season, there is a possibility for summer showers, so take note and be prepared. To ensure you all stay sun healthy, you will find sunscreen in the restrooms of the Swan and Dolphin in the convention areas.

WHAT TO PACK – When packing make sure you remember our evening events. This year's opening reception is themed It’s A Whole New World. It will start our week off with an evening beach party and kickstart the fun for the rest of the week. Dress comfortably, and bring a sweater or jacket for indoor ‘air conditioned’ activities and sessions. When packing for Monday nights exhibit hall opening, please join us in dressing for the occasion. This year it is a Journey through Classic TV! Be prepared to see your favorite tv stars of the present and days gone by. We have even heard that the actual ‘KLINGER’ (Jamie Farr) from M*A*S*H will be joining us for this event.

A NEW FEAT(ure) – This year, you will be able to reserve a quiet room. The purpose of this room is for reflection, meditation, or a quiet space, as well as for nursing mothers. If you need to reserve a time slot, please stop by the ASK ILTA DESK or Registration DESK to reserve your time. Please note this room is not available for meetings or phone calls.

FINDING YOUR WAY:

Once you have checked-in to your hotel, you can find our Event Registration in the DOLPHIN on the LOBBY LEVEL/CONVENTION CENTER side. Registration will be opening every day, throughout most of your waking hours (for exact hours see our website). This is not only where you register but also a great place to ask a question on the DOLPHIN side if you can’t find your way. When at the SWAN, we will have an ASK ILTA Desk to assist you throughout the week.

Our ILTA HUB is located on the Northern Hemisphere Level of the DOLPHIN and a great place to stop by to gather ILTA information, hear speakers, learn more about our offerings and how to get involved and volunteer.

BREAKFAST and LUNCH will be located on the 1
st floor (lowest level/exhibition hall level) of the DOLPHIN. Opening sessions (keynote), G100, Tuesday and Thursday evening dinners, will be located at the SWAN.

There is something for everyone, and a full agenda of activities, education, experiences and networking opportunities.

There will be more information forthcoming as we get closer to conference, we look forward to seeing you.
