Writing thought leadership blogs and articles are not just for professional bloggers, writers, speakers, and journalists -
they can be for anyone as an important part of educational writing, promotion, and much more. Inspirational and aspirational articles submitted to the ILTA Blogs can serve as an effective source to inspire and persuade ILTA community members to adopt and adapt to a rapidly evolving modern “post-pandemic” workplace.

Here are some writing tips you can use to submit your next inspirational articles using the ILTA Authoring experience:

Storytelling

“Experience-Driven” Storytelling can be most inspirational and powerful when you can help other ILTA members see themselves and the people they know within the article. Connect with your reader via making the article educational, motivational, persuasive, and entertaining! Focus on how you can inspire the next wave of innovation in a workplace with tips and tricks related to overcoming common obstacles, ideas to impact, and key lessons learned from your workplace journey living through an amazing transformational experience!

The obvious question to ask is, “Where do I get the article content from?”

One great place to start is your firm’s experience. Some of the key innovations adopted by your firm to empower remote workers to connect, collaborate, and get their work done could be categorized as purely aspirational just a couple of years ago!

Do your online research, talk to coworkers, read your firm’s news, and let the ideas flow. Try not to spend too much time explaining why “something” is exciting because what is exciting for you may not be exciting for others! Instead, try to follow the “show, don’t tell” motto when authoring blogs or articles because you want to focus on your article’s core message and its key elements that can inspire the broader ILTA community members!

Inspirationally Interesting

Make sure you are passionate and interested in the topic before submitting the “inspirational” article! Your article submission is bound to be more interesting if you are excited and passionate about the topic because “excitement can be contagious.” Pretend you are a curious, investigative journalist looking for the most interesting aspects to include in your article submission that will inspire and excite other ILTA community members. As quoted by the great Albert Einstein himself, “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” Lastly, don’t forget to use the Five Ws: “Who, What, Where, When, and Why” to make your article more interesting -- I suggest you throw in the “How” too.

Be You

Adopt your unique natural style of writing and use conversational tone wherever possible. One way to author articles is to pretend you are transcribing aintellectual and thought leadership conversation with your colleague and then perform incremental article updates, plus clean up just before submission. Your article should use simple easy-to-read words that any user can understand while avoiding unnecessary jargon and technical terms.

Go ahead and submit your first inspirational and thought leadership article today to ILTA and let your talent speak for itself!
