Projects, Applications and Change Workshop Part I - Complexity - It's not Complicated

Change is risk – but it is also opportunity. Project and Programme management are the conventional tools for managing change, but cutting edge research at one of the UKs top Business Schools has identified that these conventional methods could be missing more than half the picture in the dynamic and “VUCA” (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) environments that we currently navigate. This session is a fast moving, high flying look at how organisations can significantly improve the management of change – and it’s also a lot of fun! In this session, delegates will assess their own projects and programmes and look at how to better enhance their performance.

This is an interactive session that will bring delegates working together as a group to develop and agree best practice tools that the delegates can use within their own Firm’s to support the Easy Adoption of Digital Change, through the Delivery, Planning and Implementation stages

AI-Powered Knowledge Management

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been proven to enhance the capabilities of teams engaged in discovery and due diligence by extracting and structuring information within unstructured document collections. A core goal of knowledge management has been to structure unstructured information, for example by developing and maintaining deal and experience databases. A major challenge to these efforts has been the limitations of human labour (labour is often not available, and when it is the quality may not be as high as is required).

During this session, we hear use case examples on the following:
- How knowledge is redefining itself to deliver new legal services
- How technology can be applied in a holistic people, process, data and technology mindset
- How to build the skills and structure of the emerging knowledge management team - including new roles, diversity of thought and leveraging the skills your people already have

Built versus Bought

As the pace of innovation is increasing in Legal Technology, discussions about build versus buy are becoming more regular. However the main challenge with the discussions is that they are often theoretical, about what people should do in the future rather than practical, providing examples of what people have done in the past. We all have examples of success stories for both build and buy therefore the discussion needs to move to the past tense. Join us to hear examples from four individuals who have examples of successful built or bought strategies.
