Please join us for lunch as a Supervisory Special Agent from the Cleveland FBI Cyber Squad provides an overview of cyber trends and recent cybersecurity directives, describes the threat landscape and discusses the government response to cyber intrusions.

Presenter

G. Ryan Macfarlane is a Supervisory Special Agent for one of the FBI Cleveland Division's Cyber Squads, which investigates and pursues those responsible for highly complex criminal and national security-related computer intrusions. He has investigated intrusions at Google, RSA and numerous defense contractors, typically performing malware analysis, incident response and malicious network traffic analysis. In December of 2016, Ryan was responsible for the arrest and extradition of a criminal hacking group from Eastern Europe that was the number one distributor of malware via email in 2016. He started his career with the FBI in the Los Angeles Field Office, and spent two years in Washington, D.C. on the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force, which is a multi-agency cyber center responsible for coordinating, integrating and sharing analysis among over 20 intelligence, law enforcement and foreign partners in support of countering global cyber threats. Before joining the FBI in 2004, Ryan worked for IBM, i2 Technologies and an internet security .
