Processing Electronic Evidence and Load Files - Litigation Support and Ediscovery

Lunch Sponsor: Commonwealth Legal, a division of Ricoh Canada

Description:
During this interactive roundtable, we'll hold an open discussion on processing electronic evidence and dealing with load files. Processing evidence prepares it for review and production, and involves two main activities: data preparation and data culling. Data preparation typically includes preparing a file inventory, extracting metadata, preserving parent-child relationships and dealing with documents that require special treatment, such as encrypted or password-protected documents. Data culling reduces the amount data for review, and involves removing or flagging of duplicates and/or irrelevant information. Bring your questions and answers to the table as we cover topics including:

  • What processing involves and types of software used
  • Best practices for processing
  • Pros and cons of processing in-house vs out-sourcing
  • What the vendor needs to know and what they can offer you
  • Load file formats and what they should contain
  • Best practices for dealing with load files
  • Editing load files
