During this roundtable event, our distinguished panel of successful women will describe their career journeys -- past, present and future -- focusing on key events and important steps along their way. The discussion will continue onto career growth and how to prepare for change by building networks through making connections, developing relationships, and practicing collaboration. Moderator

Beth Patterson, the Chief Legal & Technology Services Officer at Allens, is a globally recognised leader in the development of legal technologies, including the application of AI and advanced analytics to deliver value to clients. Responsible for Allen's alternative services offerings, Beth leads a team of multi-disciplinary professionals, working with lawyers and clients to deliver market leading technologies combined with low-cost document review solutions. She came to the legal industry through a non-traditional ICT path, starting her career as a programmer with IBM in the U.S. and then working on AI solutions in the banking and finance industries. Beth recently received the 2017 Lexis Nexis Janders Dean Innovation Special Achievement award for her work in advancing the legal industry. Her innovative contributions have also seen her receive the 2016 LawTech Legal IT Leader of the Year - Large Firm and the 2015 ILTA Litigation Support Professional of the Year Distinguished Peer Award.

Berys Amor's role as the Director of Technology at Corrs Chambers Westgarth involves collaborating with key business stakeholders to understand the business objectives and factors of success in the industry, and developing and implementing the IS strategy in line with the overall business strategy. Berys has successfully established a team that is solely focused on developing web-based client technology solutions that is generating revenue for the business. She has a reputation as a highly regarded leader of change, which was demonstrated when selected as one of CIO Australia's Top 50 CIOs in 2016, and as a Knowledge Advisor to the International Legal Technology Association.

Michelle Mahoney is a member of King & Wood Mallesons executive team as the Executive Director of Innovation. Michelle is responsible for the strategy, design and delivery of the firm's innovation agenda and portfolio. As a serial intrapreneur, she has a deep understanding of technology, the professional services industry, first to market services, continuous improvement and design thinking practices. Michelle can design and deliver legal products and services that are driven by what clients value. She is a Prince 2 project management practitioner, a Prosci Change Management practitioner, d.school Design Thinker and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Michelle is a Fellow of the College of Law Practice Management and in 2017 Michelle was the recipient of the ILTA Distinguished Peer - Leadership Award.

Dr. Philippa Ryan, a Barrister and Lecturer in the UTS Faculty of Law, coordinates and teaches Commercial Equity along with Disruptive Technologies and the Law. Pip's PhD formulated a new classification for the liability of third parties to a breach of trust and she is currently researching the regulation and status of cryptocurrencies and trust protocols enabled by blockchain technology. She is the Chair of the Standards Australia Blockchain Technical Committee's Smart Contracts Working Group and she leads the international project to write a technical specification for Smart Contracts (within the ISO Blockchain Technical Committee). Her forthcoming book is Trust and Distrust in Digital Economies (Routledge 2019).
