Many firms are facing a tough decision as they struggle to select a financial system replacement. Long gone are the days of RFPs with hundreds of accounting processing-type questions, providing you with a clear, objective way to compare vendors. Today, the evaluations are not as crystal clear and key differentiators are much more subjective -- hence the struggle.

The goal of this webinar series is to share lessons learned over the past few years in system selection, to learn about approaches used by your peers during the decision-making process and to provide an open forum to ask questions of your peers and a few seasoned consultants.

In this first webinar of the series, we'll talk about techniques and solutions to overcome common pitfalls and hurdles in the selection process that could derail your project.

Speakers

Beth O'Connor, a CPA and MBA, is the Principal and Founder of AAC, Inc. She has worked in various capacities on over 150 implementations of financial systems in law firms and other professional services organizations and is widely acknowledged as an expert in financial systems implementations, including multinational implementations. Beth is a frequent lecturer at industry conferences, with 32 years of experience with law firm accounting systems. She began her career in 1983 and has acted as project manager for two leading software vending companies. In 1996, Beth formed AAC, Inc. with a concentration on providing consulting services to law firms and professional services firms throughout the world.

Jarmila Pencikova has been the Director of Finance and Controller at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP for the past seven of her 27 years at the firm. She has played a major role in various projects at Osler over the past 20 years, including the implementation of Aderant Expert, Chrome River, Prebill Viewer, Control Systems and other financial systems. Jarmila is a Certified Professional Accountant with 30 years of experience in finance, accounting and information systems.

Julie Lindsay is the Team Leader of the financial system selection group at AAC, where she guides clients through the system selection process. With over 35 years of experience in the legal industry, Julie previously worked for two large law firms, focusing the greater part of her career on identifying and implementing operational strategies to improve efficiencies in the revenue cycle and other areas within financial services.
