Washington, DC: Meeting Client Specific Information Governance and Retention Requirements

When:  Apr 23, 2019 from 12:00 to 13:30 (ET)

Description

High-profile security breaches, tougher laws, regulations governing data protection and data privacy have led to heightened client awareness of the risks associated with poorly managed information.

Law firms now face more scrutiny about their information governance (IG) policies and procedures than ever before. Request for proposal (RFP) from clients and prospects are requiring detailed information on how firms apply, review and manage IG, while clients’ outside counsel guidelines are making very specific demands about records retention. Audits to assess how firms are enforcing these requirements are also happening more frequently, causing a significant strain on internal resources.

Is your firm making the most of technology to manage client specific IG requirements? Join information governance professionals and technology experts from FileTrail as they discuss challenges and best practices.

This session will cover topics including:

  • Why information governance is emerging as a cornerstone of effective risk management
  • Streamlining matter mobility related to lateral hires, departures and client file transfer requests
  • Defining and implementing firm IG policies
  • Evaluating and managing compliance with client-specific requirements as defined in RFPs and counsel guidelines
  • Automating records retention and disposition

We will also explore the intersection of policy, process and technologies, strategies for creating a more comprehensive approach to IT, integrating information technology, records compliance.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from your peers, share your experiences and ask the experts about how both your firm and your clients can benefit from a more proactive approach to information governance.

If you play any role touching IG, and want to help your firm survive and thrive in today’s complex environment, join our conversation.

Please bring valid identification.
