MS Teams Governance

When:  Sep 23, 2020 from 12:00 to 13:00 (ET)

Description

Law firms have significantly accelerated the deployment of Microsoft Teams to their users due to the Covid-19 pandemic's remote work requirements. A project that would have spanned several months and included requirements, workflow definition, information governance, and provisioning discussions has, in many instances, been rolled out without attention to many of these issues. What might break?

Where users see a Zoom-like collaboration platform, we see the risk of ungoverned client content, discoverable messaging, and the unsupervised expansion of matter content via SharePoint's content management tools. What to do?

This horse has left the barn, but we still have the opportunity to fold Teams into a broader need to content strategy, information governance, and collaboration. Clearly defined content policies, matter and client site provisioning, and related security measures (including the application of ethical walls) should move forward in lockstep with the adoption of Teams as a hybrid collaboration/information/execution tool.
