Information Governance Discussion: Compliance, Retention, Destruction and Disposal - Part II

When:  May 28, 2019 from 15:00 to 16:00 (ET)

Description

We hope you will join us for the second part in our compliance, retention and destruction roundtable series, as we discuss a variety of information governance (IG) topics, including:

Compliance refers to being in accordance with established guidelines/specifications or the process of becoming so. It can encompass efforts to abide by both industry regulations and government legislation. We'll talk about internal security and/or client requirement-based compliance, aligning internal compliance with client-required compliance, and maneuvering the push/pull between the creator of records (attorneys) and the manager of records

Retention is the condition or state of keeping something, and for how long. We'll talk about internal and/or regulatory-based retention.

Destruction refers to the way a record is destroyed, and when. We'll talk about electronic vs hard copy, who handles it and if not, why not?

Disposal is the way a record can be disposed of, including the transfer of ownership. We'll talk about when to return client files and how you dispose of client-provided material.

Answering the questions that were missed on our last roundtable.
