Description:
We hope you'll join us for this virtual roundtable as we discuss a variety of information governance (IG) topics including:
Compliance refers to being in accordance with established guidelines/specifications or the process of becoming and can encompass efforts to abide by both industry regulations and government legislation. We'll talk about internal security and/or client requirement-based compliance, aligning internal compliance with client-required compliance, and maneuvering the push/pull between the creator of records (attorneys) and the manager of records.
Retention is the condition or state of keeping something, and for how long. We'll talk about internal and/or regulatory-based retention.
Destruction refers to the manner in which a record is destroyed, and when. We'll talk about electronic vs hard copy, who handles it and if not, why not?
Disposal is the manner in which a record can be disposed of, including the transfer of ownership. We'll talk about when to return client files and how you dispose of client-provided material.
