Emerging Roles for Lawyers in Technology

When:  Oct 3, 2019 from 11:00 to 12:00 (ET)

Description

This expert panel will help law students gain awareness of new legal technology-based roles for lawyers at law firms, in-house legal departments and legal technology companies and how to prepare for them while in law school. Panelists will discuss strategies for engaging the next generation of legal professionals in the pioneering work of integrating legal technology into the daily lives of all lawyers.

If it is done right, technology means lawyers can stop spending time on process, can be more consistent, more thorough and more responsive to client needs. In a nutshell, technology will make us better lawyers. Since only lawyers know what lawyers need we must build lawyers who can Identify and embed technology into practice.

In our webinar discussion we will:

  • Discuss recasting legal tech as an integral part of practice rather than a tool, and the reasons why law needs lawyer/technologist hybrids in innovation roles.
  • Hear professionals share their journeys from law school to their current technology-based roles and what they see as the future of legal technology.
  • Explore how law schools can imbue students with the legal and technical knowledge and skills needed to take on emerging innovation, ediscovery and knowledge management roles in the law firms and legal departments.

If there are questions you would like to ask the panelists, there will be time at the end dedicated to Q&A. You can pre-submit your questions here.
