Patching and Imaging Windows Using MDT and USMT

When:  Apr 10, 2018 from 15:00 to 16:00 (ET)

Description

Imaging Windows 10 machines easier than most people know. Microsoft has created a set of free tools to help you deploy Windows 10, and the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) is one of the most important resources available to your IT department. It can be used to create reference images or as a complete deployment solution.

In this webinar, we'll help you better understand how to use MDT and the User State Migration Tool (USMT) to deploy and maintain Windows 10 installations. Two ILTA members will explain how these tools are used at their own firms, and how you can use them at yours.

Note: Both MDT and USMT are available to anyone at no cost, directly from Microsoft.

Speakers

Jason Baker is the Supervisor, Help Desk and Applications Architect at Fish. A leader in the firm's applications, development and support team, he oversees the day-to-day responsibilities of the help desk staff and is responsible for configuring all firm images, application and update packaging and deployment, and managing deployment services.

Kevin Svec, the IT Director at Sanders & Parks, P.C., has led and directed all IT operations and initiatives for the past 17 years. Smaller firms have the challenge of providing enterprise-class tools on a non-enterprise budget, and Kevin has been creative in finding low- to no-cost solutions, developing in-house applications and performing most implementations with his two-person shop. The firm utilizes many of Microsoft's no-cost solutions including MDT/ADK, USMT, WSUS and to manage Windows 10, Office 365, servers and updates.
