Mr. Ballar’s ability to manage all aspects of computer life cycle management including defining the technical process for desktop, server, software deployment, packaging, asset, patching, metering, security, auditing and inventory have been an important ingredient to the success of every project.
As an authority in no-hands rollout procedures, Mr. Ballar brings his comprehensive understanding, a unique blend of big picture strategy and critical daily operational details, to the numerous engineer teams he has commanded worldwide. Over the past decade and a half as Lead Engineer, Mr. Ballar has worked with clients such as Hughes Space and Communication, Fox Studios, Cedars Sinai Hospital, Mattel Toys and Honeywell directing projects that include:
• Managing 25 engineers and staff in an 8000 node migration from Windows 3.x & Macintosh to Windows NT4.0
• Managing 15 engineers in deployment of software – Lotus Notes
• Managing 12 engineers in software testing for NT4.0 project
While Mr. Ballar continues to enjoy a wide variety of experiences throughout his career, his primary focus for the last decade has been as Lead Engineer for Paul Hastings, a preeminent legal worldwide firm. Mr. Ballar has built a thorough understanding of the infrastructure, work process and IT needs of the legal industry including designing a 3000 node migration from Windows XP to Windows 7 for 18 offices worldwide, a 3000 node migration from Windows 2000 to Windows XP for 12 offices worldwide and a 3000 node migration from Windows 95 to Windows 2000 for 12 offices worldwide including design and implementation of Altiris for the desktop environment as well as implementing Citrix.
