Dave Schmalzer joined Franklin & Prokopik in 2016. Dave is the I.T. director and his responsibilities include oversight of the Helpdesk, Network Administrator and day to day operations of the firm’s technology and software. Dave provides strategic guidance to help the organization implement technology, create efficiency, and build upon security, compliance, and business continuity. Dave is also active with the International Legal Technology Association.
Dave began his I.T. career in 1998 as a Network Administrator for Quest International Flavors which was later acquired by Givaudan Corp. in Owings Mills. There he acquired certifications and experience with multi-platform LAN/ WAN environments. He demonstrated a record of success in troubleshooting computers, networks and increasing business efficiency by developing process software and workflows. Dave also worked with executives to identify issues and develop approaches to solve these issues through software and technology. Dave is proficient with all Windows operating systems relating to desktops and servers, VPN, and Virtual Technologies to name a few.
Dave’s spare time is spent with family and friends. Dave also enjoys playing guitar. He likes going to various events and playing golf.
