I am Director of Knowledge Management Counsel and Research for the 800+ attorney, 52-office international labor and employment law firm Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart, P.C. I previously served as an AV-rated Shareholder with the firm, litigating labor and employment matters for a decade.
My responsibilities include creating processes, practices, and software to allow firm attorneys to work smarter, faster, and more in sync; creating internal and client-facing collaborative tools; and managing the firm's KM Counsel team and Legal Research team. Projects included development of ODSearch, a customized version of Recommind's Decisiv Enterprise Search (with Lexis Search Advantage), and ODConnect, the firm's SharePoint portal. I also manage the firm's KM Legal Resources Center, a SharePoint home for the firm’s vetted model documents, practice guides, links, and subject matter experts, sorted by legal topic, and our 50-state survey collection.
I often present on KM topics, including "Absorbing Library Services into KM" (ARK, 2/22/18), “How to Effectively Evaluate New Legal Technology Products" (ARK, 11/16/17), "Starting a Knowledge Management Program" (ILTA 4/19/17), and various sessions on Enterprise Search innovation (ILTACON 2015 and 2014 ARK KM). I am an ILTACON 2018 Program Committee Team Leader, and was an ILTACON Program Committee member in 2016 and 2017. I am also co-Chair of the NYC Practice Support Lawyers network.
