SummaryThe responsibility of the Strategic Relationship Liaison (SRL) is to develop and maintain a strong relationship with their assigned key strategic vendor by providing effective, regular communications between the key strategic vendor, volunteer leaders, the association and its membership.

CompensationVolunteer leaders of the association do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
Responsibilities
- Attend one face-to-face meeting each year (August)
- Participate in monthly SRL teleconferences with Board Liaison and other SRLs
- Attend special or ad hoc meetings called if circumstances warrant
- Manage monthly teleconferences with SR vendor, including preparation of agenda, inviting participation by vendor contacts and leading the discussion
- Develop and maintain contacts for the key strategic vendor
- Monitor all ILTA community discussion forums (egroups) associated with the vendor's products
- Communicate vendor company news and product updates via appropriate ILTA community discussions (egroups)
- Act as an advocate/mediator to address our members' concerns and work with the vendor for a resolution
- Work with members/vendors on enhancements and future software development
- Foster educational programming around vendor products and services, including company updates
- Review annual Tech Survey for accuracy around vendor's main products
- Assist vendor in getting the most out of their relationship with ILTA
- Attend ILTA events, seeking and soliciting new membership when appropriate
- Work with other volunteer leaders and staff in educating active members about the benefits of ILTA membership in order to engage and retain members
- Serve as an ambassador for ILTA
Qualifications for Service
- Prior experience in an ILTA volunteer position
- At least five years of experience working in legal technology
- Attendance at ILTACON
- Advanced knowledge of legal technologies used in law firms or law departments as it relates to the scope of the SR vendor
- Willingness to commit time required (5-7 hours per month)
- Willingness to accept direction from BOD or staff as required
- Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s Core Values
- Experience managing groups of people and projects, conducting meetings, analyzing and documenting processes and problems and suggesting solutions, and mentoring others
- Ability to lead strategic initiatives and delegate work
