Description:

The Program Planning Council comprises subject-matter experts and thought leaders in various areas of disciplines, representatives from conference planning teams and representatives who focus on law firm and law department members' needs at local and international levels. They collaborate to develop an overarching programming framework that serves all sectors of ILTA’s membership.

Role
The Program Planning Council is an appointed team of volunteers responsible for delivering ILTA’s annual programming framework which includes the overarching themes, areas of focus, target audiences and types of deliverables that all volunteer programming teams use as a guideline for program development in that programming year. This team liaises with all areas of the organization including programming teams, conference and summit teams, relationship teams, international and corporate teams, publications, strategic relationship teams, board of directors and other volunteer groups to ensure this framework provides value to ILTA members.

Term
Two Years; renewable subject to selection process: August 1,

Compensation
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.

  • Program Planning Council liaisons for Security and Compliance (2)
  • Program Planning Council liaisons for Corporate (2)
  • Program Planning Council liaison for Knowledge Advisors (1)
  • Program Planning Council liaison for Relationship Coordinating Team (1)
  • Program Planning Council liaison for LegalSEC Steering Committee (1)
  • Program Planning Council liaison for International Programming Team (1)
  • Program Planning Council liaison for Publications (1)
  • Program Planning Council liaison for Strategic Business Partners and Partner Advisory Council (1)
  • Program Planning Council liaison for Talent Council (1)
  • ILTACON Co-Chairs (2)
  • LegalSEC Summit Co-Chairs (2)
  • Board Liaisons (2)

The team will be supported by the VP of Education and Program Manager, Education and Content as their ILTA staff liaisons.

Responsibilities

  • Execute ILTA's strategic goal of increasing member engagement through consistent programming across all ILTA deliverables
  • Develop the Programming Framework for the year
  • Liaise, lead, or represent assigned ILTA volunteer teams
  • Coach ILTA volunteer leaders and content team members
  • Embrace an agile, nimble and flexible approach to programming
  • Abide by ILTA's Conflict of Interest Policy


Duties

  • Participate in monthly one-hour conference calls
  • Liaise with staff and volunteer groups to execute deliverables
  • Participate in team discussions via Slack channels and email
  • Up to Two In-Person, Virtual, or Other Multi-Day Meetings (as Scheduled) (with most travel expenses covered by ILTA)

Qualifications for Service
Objective Criteria:

  • ILTA member
  • At least four years’ experience working in legal technology
  • Experience as a speaker, author, or regular e-group contributor (or other volunteer experience within ILTA or similar professional organization)
  • Willingness to accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
  • Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values
