Whilst studying A levels my IT Teacher told me not to bother with IT as it wouldn’t suit me! Whilst working my first job in admin I overheard the business needed an internal website developed, so I stepped up and taught myself how to program. I joined TutorPro in 2003, working my way up through each department from development to sales to managing client success.
By 2010 I had transitioned to Vice President of Client Success, living in South Africa for four months, exploring new Business Partnerships for TutorPro, and volunteering in orphanages. I implemented the TutorPro eLearning into schools to enhance their training curriculum. By 2012 I was driven to take TutorPro as far as I possibly could. I knew TutorPro had an incredible amount of potential and just needed someone with a bigger vision.
In 2017 there was talk of the existing Director, Paul Turner, stepping down. This was my opportunity, grow the company I loved so much with the ability to continue supporting the projects in South Africa and the children that I sponsor. I wrote to him telling him I wanted to be at the helm. My opportunism was rewarded, and I was invited for a meeting and became the new CEO on the spot!
The Board of Directors bought into a bigger, bolder, braver vision that I had and since then my passion for using innovative technology to solve ‘messy issues’ in the industry has continued with a growing team. “If people don’t laugh at your dreams, they aren’t big enough!”
I've always been incredibly independent, passionate, and very career-focused, which is why it was a bit of a surprise for me in 2014 when I met Jay, now my husband, and found myself with an instant family! I am the stepmother of two boys, both of whom I absolutely adore as if they were my own, and loving every minute of family life.
