Reset and Recharge

The experience of many businesses in the last couple of years can be summarised in one word: relentless.

Many have seen workloads increase, whilst at the same time resources have been stretched.

Market volatility, geopolitical uncertainty and a high pace of change have become constants. Studies show that many people have been drawn into routines that leave them feeling overwhelmed and fatigued, not least as technology continues to blur the line between work and home.

In this highly interactive session, we explore how participants can adapt their daily routines so that they can work more efficiently, sustainably and effectively.

We will cover principles from elite performers and, explore the basics of what a high-performance routine (HPR) looks like in our current context, giving participants a chance to self-assess what’s going well - and to reset where necessary.

Morning Keynote: The Future with Hannah Fry

We all wonder about the future and what it might look like. A life beyond 150 years old? A world where computers can read our emotions? A planet transformed by unlimited clean energy? But the future doesn’t just happen, we make it.

Hannah Fry is a Professor of Mathematics, but she’s also the brains behind a new Bloomberg series - The Future with Hannah Fry, a show that explores the technological developments that are just around the corner, and the impact they might have on society.

Hannah has spent the last year travelling to far flung corners of the globe, meeting the people working at the cutting edge of Ai, robotics, chemistry and technology to find out, first hand, the advances that are coming around the corner. She has visited people building companies that can read and interpret out brain waves, those building devices to augment and expand the human body, and people actively working on making scarcity a thing of the past.

In this talk, in her characteristic energetic and interactive style, Hannah will take you on a tour of the technology that is just around the corner, telling tales of the things that are being over-hyped and those which deserve a second look. And she’ll reveal the developments that scientists are most excited about - the ones that will allow us to look 10-15 years ahead and talk (backed up by evidence) of what might lie ahead.

How to think differently to do differently...

There has never been a better time to challenge what we believe to be true. A question we need to ask ourselves all the time is. 'Are we changing as fast as the world around us?" Leaders and companies can only create new opportunities by creating new perspectives. It won't be what you know which is important. It will be more about how you think about what you know. We don't solve new problems with old thinking.

Leading performance coach, Jamil Qureshi takes us through a practical understanding of how to cultivate mindsets for optimizing talent. Using principles that have been shared with six people who utilized the ideas to become number one in the world in their sport, delegates will be taken through an insightful and entertaining look at how we can create positive change through obtaining different outlooks.

What is a Yottabyte and why should you care...

Data and AI are set to play a significant role in solving sustainability challenges, yet today they also contribute significantly to the problem. Data growth has always been a challenge, but now we have to add in the massive quantities of data that will be used to train AI models as the democratisation of the technology truly starts. With increased data, there is increased energy usage to store it, so tech is accelerating problems around climate action, not the other way round. Did you know that two thirds of data created is never used again?

In this talk, we will explore the impact of data and AI on sustainability, including their role in creating digital waste. We will examine the challenges and opportunities that arise from managing, optimizing, and extracting value from data in a sustainable way.
