Two Well Hidden Features in PowerPoint 2007/2010

Change Border Color of a Table
Have you inserted a table in PowerPoint 2007/2010, gave it a border, and then realize there's no direct way to change the border color? Here's what you should do:

  1. Double-click on the table handle to view the Table Tools - Design ribbon.
  2. From the Table Styles menu, use the Borders toolbar button to set the table to No Borders.
  3. On the Draw Borders menu, select the desired Pen Color.
  4. Use the Borders toolbar button again to set the table to All Borders.
  5. To modify border colors further, you can also select the desired Pen Color and drag the pen to apply the color to borders or cells.

Play Videos in PowerPoint Shapes
Videos can play in octagons, stars, circles or any other shape that is located in the Video Shapes list. You can even add a border, special video effects, or recolor effects to the video.

  1. Select the video on the PowerPoint slide.
  2. From the Video Tools menu, select the Format tab. In the Video Styles group, click Video Shape.
  3. Select the shape that you want to apply to your video.
