JOB SUMMARY
• Responsible for the strategic and tactical development and management of the content and information architecture of the Firm’s non-legal-work-product enterprise information assets including its intranet and portal systems, client extranet, internal contact management infrastructure and other related enterprise content and search systems.
• Ensures that the Content Systems and their content meets and continues to meet the needs of the Firm in terms of quality, timeliness, availability, ease-of-use, scope and depth.
• Has line management responsibility for the enterprise content services team (3-4 people) including:

  • coordination of resources and the allocation and supervision of work
  • developing internal procedures and policies
  • developing and maintaining a service catalogue
  • development of appropriate Key Performance Indicators and the identification of suitable metrics to track departmental progress against those and other appropriate objectives
  • monitoring staff performance and assisting the Managing Director, Information & Research Services in the preparation of staff appraisals and of team and individual objective setting.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2003, 2007.
• Expert knowledge of InterAction.
• Knowledge of other related content management, delivery and search tools.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as necessary to communicate, negotiate, advise, persuade or resolve issues that are highly complex in nature.
• Ability to design and present effective presentations to internal and external audiences
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Results oriented yet flexible and creative.
• Ability to focus and refocus, direct and redirect efforts of self and others in a dynamic and fluid environment of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadline pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and follow through on projects.
• Demonstrated ability to seek out and manage outside resources and coordinate with internal resources in a manner that maximizes value and cost effectiveness to the firm and clients.
• Business writing skills including knowledge on business and legal terminology as is necessary to present information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, as necessary to work effectively with people at all levels in the firm.

Education:
BA/BS required.

Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years previous related experience (including small team management), preferably in a large law firm environment or other similar professional services field.
• Familiarity with legal content.
