City Representative (CR)

Summary: The responsibility of a City Representative (CR) is to assist the Regional Vice President in delivery of services in the local area and to encourage participation in the organization and involvement of educational activities at regularly planned meetings at the local level.
Term: CRs serve a one-year term, renewable each year at the time of the annual conference. There is no limit to the number of years they can serve as a CR.
Compensation: CRs do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
Duties and Responsibilities of City Representatives
Attending Meetings:
- Attend local ILTA meetings
- Attend monthly regional CR teleconferences
- Attend CR meeting at annual conference (if possible)
- Attend regional business meeting at annual conference (if possible)
- There may be special or ad hoc meetings called if circumstances warrant
Recruiting Members:
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization
- Attend ILTA regional and peer group events, seeking out and soliciting new membership when appropriate
- Work with officers, other volunteer leaders and staff in educating active members about the benefits of ILTA membership in order to retain members

Qualifications and Skills Required of City Representatives
Qualifications
- At least two years experience working in legal technology
- Previous attendance at local meetings
- Experience at hosting one or more local meetings and regular participation in e-groups
- Interest in attending ILTA's annual conference
- Willingness to commit time required (8-10 hours/month)
- Willingness to work with speakers to ensure educational content matches what was requested
- Willingness to accept direction from RVP or ILTA staff as required
- Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values

- Prioritization of workload to meet deadlines
- Communication at all levels
- Teamwork – creating city business plan, participating in monthly calls with RVP and other regional CRs, contributing to regional business plan
- Passion for developing/providing an exceptional educational program for ILTA members
