Regional Vice President (RVP)
Summary: The responsibility of the Regional Vice President is to act as ILTA’s ambassador in their designated region, and to guide and direct the efforts of the City Representatives and staff in delivering services to ILTA members in the region. An RVP is an Officer of the corporation.
Term: RVPs may serve for up to three (3) consecutive two-year terms. If appointed to fill a vacancy, the first term for the appointed RVP shall expire based on the expiration of the term of the RVP for whose vacancy an appointment was made.
Compensation: Officers of the corporation do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
Duties and Responsibilities of Regional Vice Presidents
Attending Meetings:
- Attend two face-to-face Officers meetings each year (March and August)
- Attend monthly RVP teleconferences
- Chairs annual business meeting at annual conference.
- There may be special or ad hoc meetings called if circumstances warrant
- Lead monthly teleconferences with City Representatives in region, including preparation of agenda, leading conversation, directing flow, delegating and mentoring team members to utilize and cultivate strengths.
Recruiting Future Leaders:
- A responsibility of Officers is to identify and mentor future leaders
Recruiting Members:
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization
- Attend ILTA regional and peer group events, seeking out and soliciting new membership when appropriate
- Work with other officers and staff in educating active members about the benefits of ILTA membership in order to retain members

Qualifications and Skills Required of Regional Vice Presidents
Qualifications
- At least five years' experience working in legal technology
- Attendance at ILTA's annual conferences
- At least one year as a City Representative or in some other ILTA volunteer role
- Advanced knowledge of legal technologies used in law firms or law departments
- Good understanding of ILTA's culture in ILTA volunteer role(s) – a good ILTA ambassador
- Willingness to commit time required (10-15 hours per month)
- Willingness to accept direction from BOD or ILTA Staff as required
- Willingness at all times to act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values
- Letter of approval from organization authorizing member’s ILTA volunteer role
- Experience:
o Managing groups of people
o Managing projects
o Conducting meetings (in person and conference calls)
o Analyzing and documenting processes and problems and suggesting solutions
o Mentoring others
