This year’s theme, “Evolving Together,” speaks to the heart of the organization and is recognition
that we are in an industry that is constantly evolving. And with this theme, the goals we have set
for ILTA ‘06 center on making the conference a holistic experience for the attendees. Our goals are:
- Maintain a high value, affordable conference;
- Maximize networking opportunities;
- Provide flexible scheduling to optimize attendance across all tracks;
- Raise the overall quality depth of sessions;
- Diversify speaker mix;
- Build member speaker involvement — aiming for a 65/35 ratio for a member/vendor split across all sessions; and
- Define all educational tracks.
Co-Chairs
Our Co-Chairs for ILTA ’06 are Steve Skidmore, Information Technology Director for Martin Clearwater & Bell LLP in New York
and Eric Anderson, Director of Technical Services for Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP in Chicago. Steve and Eric have
assembled a stellar Conference Committee, and you’ll hear more about them and from them in the months ahead.
Tracks
We have decided on the tracks for ILTA ‘06 and have defined exactly what will be covered in each track. Our tracks are:
Applications, Business Strategy, Communications, Executive, Finance, ILTA U, Professional Development, Technology, and
Risk Management. In addition, we’ll have a track for each of our vendor-based Peer Groups: ADERANT, Hummingbird,
Interface Software, Interwoven, Microsoft, Novell, and Thomson Elite. We’ll also have tracks for our topic-based Peer
Groups: Law Department; Litigation Support; Mobile, Remote and Wireless; Open Source Software; Project Management; Records
Management; Telecom; and User Support. We’ll continue the Sharon Swartworth Leadership Development Seminar and provide
sessions for each of our Discussion Forums. It is going to be a jam-packed program.
