But Wait... There's More - Can We Share Files Safely?

By Joanne Kiley posted 03-24-2017 14:51

This past week members discussed safely sharing client files and more. Explore curated sources on these topics including some from ILTA’s treasure chest.

File Sharing with Clients

A member recently asked for best practices recommendations for file sharing with clients. Because saying no to a client can be a dangerous proposition, we often need to find solutions to get to yes. These two sessions at ILTACON 2016, “Innovative Data Exchanges and Collaboration with Clients” and “Danger! Navigating the File-Sharing Minefield” address best practices for file sharing. To obtain buy-in or for self-motivation read and share Dan Hunsinger’s ILTA white paper article, “They Are Going to Share Files With or Without You.”

SOMETHING EXTRA – ILTA Blogs

Have you visited ILTA’s blog page lately? Member volunteers have shared a wide variety of insight in the two weeks.

Jason Bergerson describes technologies leveraged in smart phone investigations in “Mobile Phone Forensics: Understanding Cellebrite Extraction Reports.”

Beau Mersereau provides us with a first look at Microsoft Office: Teams In his post. E offers nice comparisons, raises concerns and discusses implementation.

If you haven’t read it yet, Joe Davis wrote an “AI Roundup” that will help you catch up on all of ILTA’s AI programming.

Be sure to also read Barry Wheeler’s “Over-Clocked: Building and Testing Extreme Machine for Legal Technologists.” Don’t stop at the blog post, check out the document he attached for all the juicy details.

As ILTA’s content curator, I’m always monitoring the discussion forums to discover what topics are top-of-mind among the members. Each week, I focus on a few areas that spark your interest, and I provide some curated resources to assist your own information-gathering on the topics. If there are specific topics you would like assistance exploring, please contact me at joanne@iltanet.org
