SharePoint is a great tool for collaboration, and its potential for solving complicated business problems is limited only by its implementation – it's as good as you make it. Making SharePoint great can be costly and complex, depending on what you are trying to do, but making SharePoint work for a lot of business problems can be surprisingly inexpensive and easy.
The SHAREPOINT: INTRANET HOME PAGE PROJECT is a collection of screenshots of SharePoint intranet home pages from ILTA firms around the country. Some firms contributed screenshots of additional pages, and those are included as well. Notably, contributing firms range in size from 21 attorneys to 4000 attorneys, and as you can see, site design varies from very simple to very complex. There are common elements among the various implementations, but it is clear that some firms approach the same (or similar) solutions in very different ways. And of course, that is the nature of SharePoint – it's simply a collection of potential possibilities for solving problems of collaboration.
