The Women Who Lead have hit the road to share their wisdom about growing your career. They began this trip with a stop in Chicago to discuss how colleagues, connections and collaboration all help with career growth. (Note: this advice holds true regardless of gender.) Their next stop is Philadelphia on July 11. Join the conversation or if you won’t be close to Philadelphia in July, they provided a Key Takeaways document from the conversation in Chicago.

As ILTA’s content curator, I’m always monitoring the discussion forums to discover what topics are top-of-mind among the members. Each week, I focus on a few areas that spark your interest, and I provide some curated resources to assist your own information-gathering on the topics. This past week has been an eye-opener for many people regarding the recent cyber-attack "NotPetYa".  This attack affected many large companies, and some at a rate of 5000 machines every 15 minutes.  There is an excellent thread running in the ILTA "LegalSEC" community regarding this attack, and it is an example as to why people responsible for IT infrastructure & security, directors, and CIOs should be members of the LegalSEC community.  I've been very impressed with the participation on the thread this week, and also somewhat reduced in size with relation to the level of knowledge required to better protect my firm's systems.  Most of my week has been spent reading the different security threads, blogs, white papers, etc., and I've been trying to spread the word to others in my local community on why this is so damn important.

I highly recommend that if you're not a member of the LegalSEC community, you should consider joining now.
