    Hi All,

We're starting the search (again) for a new conflicts system. We use Aderant Expert (on-prem) for time and billing, but browser conflicts was never implemented because of reporting issues, clunky interface, etc. We saw a technical demo for Aderant's new conflicts a couple years ago and it didn't seem ready.

We're open to looking at it again, so if anyone has recent feedback to share on it, that would be appreciated. I do have concerns, though, of vendor lock-in if someday Aderant forces us to move to Sierra to keep using their new conflicts system.

We've also looked at Intapp, which is still the front runner. I believe it would check all our technical requirement boxes, but we were hesitant about the cost.

All that said, it seems there is nothing out there for small firms. The only tools I've seen/heard of are enterprise level in terms of complexity and cost. Are there others out there that are cloud-based, and relatively affordable for small firms? Which makes me wonder how small (boutique) firms even conduct conflicts checks at all.

According to the 2022 ABA Legal Tech Survey, the top three product names for conflict checking software are Tabs3, Time Matters, and Clio.  I believe these are for smaller-midsized firms. We are implementing Intapp which appears to be the all-around front runner.

    Good luck with your search.

    Liz

Thanks, Liz. We're still looking at Intapp, too. Someone recommended Upfront by Fulcrum and that may be a good candidate as well.
