Description:

PURPOSE:
The Programming Committee provides a collaboration forum for the content team liaisons to discuss programming throughout the organization.  This committee will collaborate with all areas of the organization including programming teams, conferences, and summit teams, international and corporate.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Programming Committee Co-Chair’s role is to:

  • Participate in the Education Council to collaborate and cross-pollinate planning across the committees
  • Create overall strategy with Council Co-Chairs to ensure best use of available resources
  • Abide by ILTA's Conflict of Interest Policy

TERM:

  • Two years. Co-Chair terms will be staggered
  • Can reapply after two years of non-service:  August 1 to July 31
  • Shadowing portion of term: May 1 to August 1

DUTIES:

  • Attend and participate in scheduled meetings of the Education Council
  • Report plans and activities of the Programming Committee to the Education Council to ensure overall alignment and involve other committees as required
  • Regularly schedule and co-lead Programming Committee meetings
  • Ensure the overarching programming framework is being used as a guide for program creation and metrics are met by each content team 
  • Work with other Committee Co-Chairs (Events and ILTACON) to plan content that integrates across Committees

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:

Minimum Criteria:

  • Active ILTA member, business partner or industry participant
  • Complete the ILTA Conflict of Interest Form
  • At least two years’ experience working in legal technology
  • Experience as a speaker, author, or regular e-group contributor (or other volunteer experience within ILTA or similar professional organization)
  • Accept direction from the volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required
  • Act as a reflection of ILTA’s core values
  • Approval by employer

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience volunteering for the Programming Committee (previously Program Planning Council)
  • Deep knowledge/experience of technology in the legal profession
  • Effective interpersonal communication both verbal and written
  • Expertise in managing teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Business acumen 
  • Ability to respond to rapidly shifting priorities

COMPENSATION:
ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
