In this virtual roundtable, we'll hold an open discussion on outsourcing and ask for your contributions to the conversation on topics that may include:

  • Determining your objectives when choosing to outsource
  • Management considerations and co-employment issues
  • Best practices for outsourcing scanning
  • Access and risk management
  • Accountability and oversight

Moderator:
Gillian Glass
is the Director of Practice Support, Paralegals and Records at Farella Braun + Martel LLP. In this role since 2000, she is responsible for electronic discovery, paralegal services, knowledge management and physical and electronic records. Previously, she was the litigation support manager for the San Francisco City Attorney's Office. Gillian received ILTA's Distinguished Peer Award for Records and Risk Management in 2011.

Panel:
Steve Huffman
, CRM, is the National Records Manager for the North American region of Baker McKenzie. The firm's records management function, including Steve's position, is outsourced through Williams Lea Tag. As part of this partnership, Steve works closely with Baker McKenzie's administrative leadership to develop and implement records management and information governance strategy and policy. He was previously the national records manager at Foley & Lardner, also with Williams Lea Tag, and prior to that, supported law firm clients at Merrill Corporation.

Kathleen Jimenez from White & Case LLP has over 10 years of experience in every facet of the legal records field. With a unique perspective of both the needs of end users and the demands of technologists, she is a strong liaison between the two groups. Kathleen has helped several hundred attorneys move email from one system to another, including several with over 300,000 emails, resulting in a large reduction of emails and mailbox size on the Exchange servers.

Timothy TeBordo is the firm-wide Records Manager at Ballard Spahr, where he has spearheaded the firm's retention efforts and matter mobility initiative. He also assisted with the firm's RMS upgrade and managed services outsourcing project. Timothy has over 10 years of experience in legal records.
