A message from the Event Co-Chairs

ILTA EVOLVE is targeted at legal technology professionals and members of the broader legal profession, almost all of whom are dramatically impacted by technology and the process disruption that it drives. Attendees will span functional areas of expertise, including those in the security, information governance, generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), and innovation domains supporting the practice of law. ILTA EVOLVE will provide premier learning and networking opportunities developed by a team of industry expert peer volunteers acting as the Educational Planning Committee. ILTA EVOLVE plans to provide interactive workshops on cybersecurity and generative AI. The Educational Planning Committee intends to focus on providing unique content, such as hands-on demos of AI use cases and cybersecurity tactical practices in the legal profession, and case studies about how law firms are implementing AI and cybersecurity technology in the real world today. The three days include educational sessions equally divided into security and AI tracks.

Success stories and lessons learned from member law firms will be shared, highlighting practical strategies and common pitfalls. The workshop will also examine AI embedded in popular legal tech platforms, offering use cases, best practices, and insights into financial return on investment and cost/benefit analysis. Hands-on prompting sessions and case studies will equip attendees with actionable ideas and real-world skills to bring meaningful AI-driven innovation back to their organizations.

Microsoft Copilot in Law Firms: Lessons Learned, Use Cases, and Best Practices

This workshop provides an in-depth look at Microsoft Copilot’s integration and application within law firms. Participants will explore Copilot’s capabilities across Office, Teams, and Azure, focusing on streamlining legal tasks, assisting with writing and research, and improving case outcomes for clients. Key topics include licensing considerations, ROI analysis to address the significant per-user costs, and strategies for effective adoption. The session will also emphasize training attorneys and paralegals not only on how to use Copilot but also on how their roles may evolve as they leverage this technology. Attendees will learn about integrating Copilot with OneDrive work products, addressing security concerns, and extending its use beyond M365. Lessons learned and best practices from member firms will provide actionable insights for optimizing Copilot’s potential and reinventing workflows in their organizations.

The workshop will include covering the following as it relates to law firms and legal industry.

  • Clear understanding of how Legal LLMs are different and why they are so promising, including some discussions of some of key players.

  • Review some clear plans for continuing education and staying on top of the material.
  • Review some Excellent outputs/experience with GenAI tools.

EVOLVE will focus on the two most pressing issues in legal tech and will be host to the latest trends in technology. 2025 ILTA EVOLVE is all about Generative Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. Each year two focus areas will be chosen based on industry demand and challenges, and trending change.

LegalSEC Summit presented the finest education in legal cybersecurity for almost 15 years. Cybersecurity is now embedded in almost every area of legal technology and will be a focus for years to come. ILTA EVOLVE seeks to identify and educate on the most pressing issues in legal tech as the landscape changes. Cybersecurity is one of the primary topics of education at ILTA EVOLVE along with Generative Artificial Intelligence.

ILTA EVOLVE 2025 will take place Sunday 27 April through Wednesday 30 April at the Marriott Myrtle Beach Resort & Spa at Grande Dunes at 8400 Costa Verde Dr, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572. The venue is approximately 9.9 miles from the Myrtle Beach International Airport (code: MYR).

ILTA EVOLVE 2025 will be presented entirely in person. There are no plans to offer a streaming/virtual option.

During the registration process, you will be asked to request a dietary, physical, or other accommodation to fully participate. Please contact our Events Team at events@iltanet.org for additional accommodation information.

Members may register for $1299 until 13 March ($1,599 13 March through April 13); qualifying non-members may register for $1,999 until 13 March ($2,499 13 March through April 13).

ILTA Members and non-members are eligible. Non-members are those individuals who qualify for ILTA membership but haven't become members.

Late registration fees will start on 13 March.

Run of House rooms are available for $249 / night plus applicable taxes (currently 13%). All reservations must be accompanied by a refundable one night room deposit. Reservations cancelled within 7 days of arrival will forfeit the deposit. The EVOLVE Room Block will close on Thursday 20 March 2025. Reservations made after that time may not be available, and if available may not be at the EVOLVE rate.
