Carrie Kirby is the Learning & Development Manager at Day Pitney LLP in New York City. Carrie took an unconventional route into legal technology education after working in music education and Human Resources for many years.
An educator at heart, Carrie believes that establishing a culture of learning is necessary for law firms to remain competitive in this age of technology. Under her leadership, the Learning and Development team at Day Pitney has implemented a competency-based continuing technology education program for staff and attorneys that incorporates blended learning principles and flipped learning methodology. At ILTACON 2015, Carrie co-presented, “Don’t Flip Out – It’s Only Blended Learning” and in March 2017, she co-authored the winning submission of the Academy of Human Resource Development’s “Excellence in Scholarly Practice Award” entitled, “Flipping the Corporate Classroom: Challenging the Norm in Legal Technology Training”.
Carrie currently serves on the board of the Legal Technology Core Competency Certification Coalition (LTC4) and has been instrumental in establishing a global certification process for the organization.
