Blockchain allows digital information to be distributed but not copied providing the backbone of a new type of internet. Don and Alex Tapscott, authors of Blockchain Revolution, describe blockchain as an incorruptible ledger of economic transactions that can be programmed to record not just financial transactions but virtually everything of value.

Blockchain is poised to disrupt not only the legal industry, but virtually every single industry. I believe it is very important for legal technologist to learn what they can to help their attorneys and firm prepare for the disruption.
