Windows 7/8/10 – Date Calculator
You have asked for a response 45 days from the date of a letter. What date would that be? Windows 7 has a built-in standard calculator, but it also has additional functionality, including date conversion. Date conversion allows you to quickly calculate the difference between two dates or to add or subtract days from a specific date without looking at a calendar.
Launch the Calculator
- Click the Start button and type Calculator in the Search programs and files box.
- Click the Calculator at the top of the search pane to launch it; -or- Right-click on the Calculator and choose Add to Start Menu or Add to Taskbar for future ease of access.
- Inside the Calculator, click View > Date calculation.
Calculate the Difference Between Two Dates
- In the From and To fields, select the beginning and ending dates from the pop-up calendars.
- Click the Calculate button to see the results.

Add or Subtract Days to a Specified Date
- Under Select the date calculation you want, click the drop down and choose Add or subtract days to a specified date.
- Click the From drop-down to select the beginning date from the calendar.
- Click the Add or Subtract radio button to add or subtract days from this date.
- Click on the arrows to increase or decrease the number of years, months, or days to add or subtract, and click Calculate to see the results.
