Excel Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts can be helpful and these Excel data entry shortcuts are no exception!

Result

Ctrl + ;

Enters current date

Ctrl + Shift + ;

Enters current time

Ctrl + Enter

Duplicates what you have typed in the first cell

if you have multiple cells selected.

Ctrl + ‘

Repeats what is directly above

Ctrl + ~

Toggles between showing cell formulas or formula results

Alt + =

AutoSum

Ctrl + End

Move to the last cell on a worksheet

Ctrl + Home

Move to the beginning of a worksheet

Ctrl + 1

Open the Format Cells dialog box

F2

Edit cell

Shift + F2

Add or edit comment

Ctrl + A

Select all data

Ctrl + Page Down

Move one sheet to the right

Ctrl + Page Up

Move one sheet to the left

Shift + Space

Select an entire row

Ctrl + Space

Select an entire column

Ctrl + Shift + 1

Format as numbers

Ctrl + Shift + 2

Format as time

Ctrl + Shift + 3

Format as date

Ctrl + Shift + 4

Format as currency

Ctrl + Shift + 5

Format as percentage

F11

Creates a chart out of the current range

Ctrl + T

Creates a table out of the current range
