Here’s a tip for all starting to do training or other kinds of presentations in a Windows 10 environment that makes the transition between presentation slides and live program demonstration a breeze.
-Prior to starting your PowerPoint show (or showing other onscreen documentation), open a second desktop using the Task View with any programs and materials that you will be live demonstrating from (or keep it blank for general windows topic training).
-In Desktop 1, start your PowerPoint show. When you reach the point where you wish to switch to do a live demonstration press CTRL-WIN-*Right Arrow* to seamlessly pop over to Desktop 2 and begin your live demonstration.
-When you are ready to return to your slides, press CTRL-WIN-*Left Arrow* to return directly to your running slide show in Desktop 1 exactly where you left off. There are no interruptions due to having to reopen/reset the presentation and all your animations and embedded media continue to run as intended.
If using a screen recorder to capture your live session (for Camtasia at least), the recording captures your content as seen on screen for both desktops just as anyone in a live class or meeting would see your screen. Very little post-session editing is needed because there aren’t any awkward disengaging silences and clicks as you change between slideshow and live demo.
Happy Presenting!
