Tip of the Week - View Emails in Outlook 2016

By ILTA Tips posted 10-07-2019 08:08

Email Reading Format in Outlook 2016 is Stretched-Out

Reading emails had become a chore because, for most of my emails, I have to use the scroll bar to read the content. The email body is positioned at the center, with a large amount of space on both sides of the reading pane, resulting in having to constantly use the mouse to scroll to the right to read them.

This seems like a known issue when viewing HTML emails in Outlook. "Microsoft has noticed this issue and our product team are working on it." I hope this issue will be fixed soon.

BUT – the following works for me:  Go to File > Options> Mail. Uncheck the option "Reduce message size by removing format information not necessary to display the message."

In addition, some users were able to fix the issue by clicking View tab > Reading Pane > Options and uncheck the "Turn on automatic full-screen reading in portrait orientation" option.
