Aderant Momentum 2026: Bringing the Conference Back to the Community

Aderant Momentum Global 2026 is almost here, and based on the agenda, it is shaping up to be a meaningful week for firms focused on the business of law, financial operations, billing performance, AI, analytics, and the future of the Aderant ecosystem.

For the ILTA Aderant Community, Momentum is more than a conference. It is an opportunity to listen closely, connect the dots, and bring practical takeaways back to the broader community—especially for those who may not be able to attend in person.

A Week Built Around Practical Firm Priorities

Momentum opens on Monday, May 11, just a week away, with several deep-dive Master Classes aligned to the operational priorities many firms are managing right now. For those arriving early, the EUC Annual Meeting is also taking place and offers a great opportunity to collaborate with peers working through many of the same challenges.

The Monday sessions include focused work on BillBlast, Expert and Expert Sierra billing, financial operations across GL and AR, analytics, and pricing strategy through Virtual Pricing Director. That mix reflects where firms are actively investing time: improving billing delivery, strengthening financial controls, increasing pricing confidence, and making better use of analytics.

These are not abstract topics; they are the everyday pressure points legal technology, finance, billing, and firm leadership teams are working through together.

Work-to-Cash Is Front and Center

One of the clearest themes in the agenda is work-to-cash.

Sessions such as “From Agreement to Invoice,” “Verify: Accelerating Prebill Review with AI,” “The Future of Time Capture,” “Autonomous Time,” “Benchmarking W2C Performance,” and “From Rejections to Revenue” all point to the same broader issue: firms are looking for ways to reduce friction from time entry through billing, collections, and realization.

That aligns closely with what we heard from the ILTA Aderant Community survey. Billing is no longer just an operational process. It is connected to revenue realization, client experience, profitability, compliance, and data confidence.

I will be listening for practical takeaways around where firms are seeing measurable improvement, what processes are changing, and how Aderant is positioning its tools to help firms move from exception-heavy workflows to more predictable outcomes.

AI Is Moving From Concept to Workflow

AI is also a major theme throughout the agenda.

The schedule includes sessions on MADDI, AI in financial management, Aderant’s AI strategy, AI-powered prebill review, AI and the law firm revenue model, autonomous time, and how Aderant develops and scales AI.

What stands out to me is that the AI conversation appears to be grounded in practical use cases. This is not just about AI as a future concept. It is about where AI can help with billing review, time capture, financial management, analytics, workflow automation, and decision support.

That is the right conversation for firms to be having. The value of AI will come from how well it fits into the work people already do, how much trust firms can place in the outputs, and whether it helps reduce friction without creating new risk.

Sierra, Expert, and the Modernization Path

Another important agenda theme is the continuing path from Expert to Sierra.

Sessions on Sierra migration, system architecture and engineering, financial and operational impact, month-end period control, journal entries, posting, and release strategy all point to the same question many firms are asking: how do we modernize with confidence?

For firms planning, evaluating, or already moving through modernization, these sessions should be especially relevant. The technical and operational questions matter just as much as the roadmap. Firms want to understand readiness, change management, testing, architecture, integrations, reporting, and what the move means for day-to-day operations.

This is one of the areas I expect to bring back to the community in more detail after the conference.

Data, Analytics, and Financial Visibility

The agenda also highlights the continued importance of data and analytics.

Sessions on Stridyn Analytics, next-generation accounts receivable, real-time profitability dashboards, benchmarking work-to-cash performance, and financial operations all point toward a larger theme: firms need stronger visibility into performance, risk, and operational bottlenecks.

Reporting came through strongly in the community survey, and I think the reason is simple. It is not enough to have data. Firms need confidence in the data, clarity around what it means, and the ability to act on it.

That makes analytics one of the most important bridges between legal technology and firm strategy.

Support, Security, and Community Connection

Beyond the sessions themselves, Momentum also includes several spaces designed for direct connection.

The Aderant Pavilion is positioned as a central conference-floor experience for demonstrations, activations, solution provider conversations, and networking. The myAderant Client Care Lounge is also an important part of the event because it gives attendees a chance to connect face-to-face with support professionals from the Expert, BillBlast, and iTimekeep teams.

That support connection matters. Stability, responsiveness, and support experience were major themes in our Inside Aderant conversation, and having direct access to product and support teams can help firms ask better questions and bring back more complete answers.

I will also be watching and strongly keeping tabs on the security conversations closely, including the session on advancing continuous security across Aderant. Security, compliance, and operational resilience continue to be part of every serious technology discussion in law firms.

Bringing Momentum Back to the ILTA Aderant Community

For me, the most important part of Momentum is what happens after the conference.

The goal is not just to attend sessions and collect notes. The goal is to bring the most useful themes back to the ILTA Aderant Community and connect them to the priorities firms have already shared.

That includes:

  • What Aderant is emphasizing across product strategy, AI, cloud, support, and modernization

  • What firms are asking about in sessions and hallway conversations

  • Where the agenda aligns with the feedback we heard in the Inside Aderant briefing

  • What topics deserve follow-up discussion with the broader community

  • How we keep the feedback loop active between firms, ILTA, and Aderant

Momentum gives us another opportunity to move from one-time conversations to a more consistent community rhythm.

What I’ll Be Listening For

As the week approaches, these are the questions I will be keeping in mind:

  • Where is Aderant placing the most emphasis in its product and platform direction?

  • How are firms approaching Sierra migration and modernization planning?

  • What practical AI use cases are moving beyond discussion into workflow?

  • How are firms measuring improvement across billing, collections, and work-to-cash?

  • What support, training, and readiness needs are firms continuing to raise?

  • Which topics should we bring back for future ILTA Aderant Community sessions?

If you are attending Momentum, I would love to hear what you are watching most closely. Let’s catch up in the hallways, at breakfast, or over lunch—I want to hear from you. I’ll also have some ILTA swag with me: ask me a question about ILTA or the SPL program and I’ll have something for you, and if you sit down for breakfast or lunch, there’s a good chance you’ll walk away with swag too.

If you are not attending, send along the questions or themes you would like represented. I will do my best to listen through the community lens and bring back what is most useful.

Momentum starts in Fort Lauderdale, but the conversation should not stay there.

Let’s bring it back to the community.
