One of the most exciting (and for that matter promising) disciplines in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) is deep learning. Deep learning can be defined as a new area of machine learning working to improve areas like voice search, image and language processing or solve unstructured data challenges. Here are three of what I think are the most crucial areas of deep learning: Voice Search & Voice-Activated Assistants Voice-activated assistants can ...

Here is the recording of the first in a series of recorded webinars on big data. In this webinar, yours truly provides an overview on big data - what is big data and how does it differ from the data law firms have been dealing with for years. I also provide definitions for some of the big data terminology, how big data is currently being used and could be used by law firms and finally some resources to dive deep into learning about all things big data. Finally, I provide a tease with some of the upcoming big data webinar topics. Let me know what you think and would like to share. https://ilta.adobeconnect.com/p4wxf7pwvv6/ #BigData

All firms today have servers, workstations, laptops, network equipment, printers and other networked devices. Almost all of these devices are capable of reporting application, system and audit events. Does your firm need to do anything with this information, and if so, how should it be collected and filtered into legible reports? There are numerous solutions available to perform these functions, and a few of the well known solutions are listed below. Today there was an open mic discussion regarding log collection and reporting. Eric Richards did an excellent job explaining one of the most widely used applications, "Splunk". This solution is capable of ...

The Surface Team alluded to thunderbolt support on the new Surface Pro 3 during their AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit today. If true, this opens up a whole new world of possibilities for the SP3. http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/26m9cu/we_are_panos_panay_and_the_surface_team_at/chsdpmh

What is a bitcoin, you might ask? Wikipedia defines it as this: Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer payment system and digital currency introduced as open source software in 2009 by pseudonymous developer Satoshi Nakamoto. It is a cryptocurrency, so-called because it uses cryptography to control the creation and transfer of money. The bottom line is it's money that isn't governed by anyone yet it represents real value. Bitcoins only exist online and once purchased (or mined, read the wikipedia article to see what this means) they are stored in virtual wallets. In early 2013 the value of bitcoins were around $13.00.
