Hi Thomas,
We have a file opening workflow that includes conflicts and due diligence searching as the first step in the process. Those searches are performed by a dedicated conflicts staff. Attorneys then review any results we find and are expected to resolve any potential conflicts, with the assistance of our Conflicts Counsel. We use FulcrumGT's Upfront, but there are other vendors, such as Intapp, that provide similar services. Time and billing systems, like ELITE 3E, Aderant Expert, Clio, and Tabs3, also come with conflict searching capabilities. What product you use should meet the needs of your firm and support the size of your conflicts and intake staff. Some products may be too much for your needs.
In addition to this, we still send out a daily email of recently open matters. It is expected that everyone in the firm reviews that email for any potential issues.

Curious to see how you handle conflicts searches for attorneys. What software do you use? Do you have a streamlined workflow so attorneys don't have to review the list every day? Thanks in advance!
