PURPOSE:

ILTACON Europe is the premier European educational and networking event for the legal sector. This two day event features extensive educational content inspired by and developed by peers with oversight from the ILTACON Europe Co-Chairs and ILTA Staff.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

ILTACON Europe Planning Team Members will join the ILTACON Europe Co-Chairs and other volunteers to plan the annual ILTACON Europe event. Planning team members are recognised as thought leaders in the industry and play a crucial role in shaping the event's content. They are passionate about developing a memorable event and provide suggestions on topics and speakers while serving as coordinators on the day of the event.

TERM:

Two-year terms with a maximum of three consecutive terms; renewable subject to selection process; can reapply after two years of non-service. The term begins following ILTACON Europe and concludes at the closing of ILTACON Europe in year three.

The time commitment varies but averages two hours per month.

DUTIES:

·         Participate in monthly meetings, which become weekly meetings in the two months leading up to the event

·         Plan and shape ILTACON Europe and suggest topics, speakers, and charity partners

·         Work with other members of the planning team to develop the education program and agenda

·         Promote and attend ILTACON Europe

·         Serve as a coordinator on the day of the event

·         Liaise with staff and volunteer groups to execute deliverables

·         Participate in team discussions via email and collaborative channels

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SERVICE:

Minimum Criteria:

·         Active ILTA member based in the UK or Europe

·         Complete the ILTA Conflict of Interest Form

·         At least two years’ experience working in legal technology

·         Volunteer experience within ILTA or similar professional organisation

·         Ability to lead a team and work within a team environment

·         Willingness to accept direction from volunteer leadership and ILTA staff as required

·         Demonstrate and uphold ILTA’s core values in all actions and interactions

Preferred Skills:

·         Deep knowledge/experience of technology in the legal profession

·         Effective interpersonal communication

·         Ability to work within a team environment

·         Ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines

·         Business acumen

·         Project management experience

·         Ability to respond to rapidly shifting priorities

COMPENSATION: 

ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.
