The responsibility of a Member Liaison is to provide and enhance value to ILTA's members by focusing on opportunities for member relationships, education, and collaboration. Member Liaisons help members build relationships with each other and ILTA, and they act as an advocate on behalf of the membership to the association.

ILTA volunteer leaders do not receive compensation for their services but may be reimbursed for expenses.

The Member Liaison will coordinate with the following team of volunteers and staff to fulfill the role of supporting members and to execute responsibilities and duties:

  • One to two Program Planning Council Members, serving as liaisons for the Relationship Coordinating Team
  • Six to eight Relationship Coordinating Team members, serving as mentors for Member Liaisons
  • Member Liaisons serving members locally in a city and/or a surrounding area
  • ILTA Manager, Local Events and Education

One year, renewable subject to annual interview/approval: January 1 to December 31


  • Deliver local networking and educational opportunities and events
  • Plan, develop and deliver curriculum of events in area
  • Promote participation opportunities within ILTA
  • Utilize ILTA resources related to the position and be proficient with ILTA tools such as Communities of Interests (, Sharepoint, Slack, website, etc.)
  • Be responsive to member requests and suggestions
  • Educate members on the benefits of ILTA membership
  • Collaborate with other ILTA volunteers and ILTA staff for delivery of services and resources
  • Act as an ILTA ambassador at all times


  • Participate in Member Liaison monthly phone calls
  • New members are required to participate in the mentoring program offered by Relationship Coordinating Team
  • Participate on project teams when needed, to develop local programming deliverable
  • Schedule and coordinate local meetings in assigned area (number of meetings depend on membership area)
  • Coordinate with Relationship Coordinating Team on various projects and initiatives
