Bio

I am a freelance journalist, writer and author writing and speaking about technology, business and media for national publications and blue-chip corporates, including Big Four consultancies, and big tech companies - which in 2020 included Google. In 2021 I joined the Oxford University Business School team producing the Solicitors Regulation Authority research report on Legaltech adoption and innovation. In 2021 and 2022 I worked for Lawtech UK on three major reports. On the AI education side, I am an associate fellow at Westminster University Law School and on the advisory board of its Legal Innovation Zone, a contributor to the House of Lords Select Committee on Artificial Intelligence report and a Legal Geek Women in LawTech mentor.

My book “Robots in Law: How Artificial Intelligence is Transforming Legal Services” (2016) was one of the first books about AI in legal services and continues to achieve world wide sales.

I have been IT columnist for the Law Society Gazette since 2009. In 2019 I started writing for Evolve the Law in NYC. My features for The Guardian, Internet of Business and Raconteur's business supplements for The Times focus on cutting-edge technology for businesses and brands. My main topics are AI, robots and chatbots, virtual assistants, connected devices (edge computing),  and virtual and augmented reality.

Speaker: In 2021 I spoke at Legal Geek in London. In 2019, I spoke at Legal Geek North America in Brooklyn. In 2018, I spoke at Swansea University Law School Legal Tech conference; the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association conference in Toronto, Future Lawyer in Oslo, IADC in Rome and Legal Geek in London.

I have contributed to supplements published by Raconteur for The Times, covering Artificial Intelligence, Legal Innovation, Digital Transformation, and the Future of Healthcare.

Screenwriting credits include short films and an independent feature film, Alfheim's Edge (2016)  My short film, Rauða Hettan, was screened at the London Independent Film Festival in April 2013. In October 2013 the short film, Robomance, was shortlisted for best use of words in the London 48Hour Film Project.
