UK eDisclosure Exchange Protocol

Introducing the New Standard

A working party from the ILTA UK Litigation Support Special Interest Group have been working on developing an ILTA exchange protocol, along with a set of guidance notes.

The aim of the protocol is to provide a document that incorporates the best practices for exchanging eDisclosure information, with sufficient options so that all scenarios are catered for. It is NOT a single rigid “standard”, more a set of menu options that people can pick and choose to reflect the functionality of their software and the case requirements.

Our Objective

The working party have spent a lot of time on the Guidance notes and hope they provide a clear explanation of the different options open to users of the protocol.

We are hoping that the protocol will be adopted by practitioners as well as endorsed by the software suppliers as a standard that contains options which their products can provide. We are also approaching the working group for the eDisclosure Pilot to see if they will add the link to the protocol to their notes and website.
