Doug Caddell is a veteran CIO, legal industry technologist and internationally recognized speaker and writer on legal technology. He has over 30 years experience in finance, operations and management and in leading the technology efforts of a variety of organizations, including mid-sized and large law firms and a governmental law department. Doug has a degree in Management Information Systems, and also Accounting from the University of Arizona. He has held professional certifications as a CPA and Certified Information Systems Auditor. In 2009 co-authored the book Achieving Excellence in Legal Technology Management, published by Thomson Reuters/West.

Doug was CIO of Foley & Lardner 1999 to 2012. Doug played a key role in focusing Foley’s technological capabilities on value-added service to the firm’s clients. In recognition of Foley’s creative strategies, Foley & Lardner was honored 8 of 11 years by CIO magazine as one of the CIO-100, and by InformationWeek magazine as a top technology innovator and one of the InformationWeek 500 for the last 6 years of his tenure. Foley was also honored by CIO Magazine judges as the winner of the Enterprise Value Award in the Management Services industry, the only law firm to win this significant award.
Doug was a "founding" participant at ILTA Insight in London.
