Company Introduction

Dictalogic is a UK-based legal technology company providing cloud-based dictation, speech recognition, and now AI-powered time capture, purpose-built for law firms. The company was founded by a law firm Head of IT who had grown tired of the clunky, expensive, and inflexible dictation systems on the market. Partnering with a co-founder from a software engineering background, the two set out to build a solution that resolves the real pain points faced by both sides of a firm: the IT director who has to deploy and maintain it, and the fee earner who has to use it every day. 

Dictation & speech recognition 

Built on Microsoft Azure and integrated with Microsoft Cognitive Speech Services, Dictalogic converts dictation to text with high accuracy across more than 90 languages, drawing on legal dictionaries of 5,000+ terms that keep learning firm- and matter-specific vocabulary. Fee earners dictate from desktop, mobile, or smartphone and assign each job to an in-house transcriber, a third-party service, or Dictalogic's built-in AI engine. Because everything runs in the cloud, firms avoid the cost and IT overhead of on-premise servers and dictation hardware, while end-to-end encryption, host-country data residency, and GDPR-aligned retention keep confidential client information secure. Additional modules include conversation-to-text for depositions and hearings, text-to-speech, and OCR for turning scanned documents into editable, searchable text.
